Day +3
This is the view from Kristi's window. She rarely looks out it since her bed puts her head at the opposite side of the wall. (you can click it to see it larger, the lower left infra-red) K apologizes for not answering the phone for the next few days. She has Chemo-Mucinitis, a really really sore throat. She had this after the last round of chemo, but this is 100x worse. Right now she only talks in whispers, when she has to. Only the most gentle foods work: Strawberry shakes, Jello, Pudding, Cottage Cheese. She now has a patient controlled dose, a button she can press to get a dose of morphine. This also means that she'll have even more reason to sleep. Sweet dreams K.

I'm sorry to hear about the sore throat :( I hope that things get easier!
Love you lots!

Max and I were talking about you the other day, he asked "Kristi is in the hospital, huh?"
"Yes Max, she is."
"That's kind of sad, huh?"
I couldn't remember hearing Max use this phrase before or talk about something being sad, so it shocked me a little and took me a minute to recover from laughing.
"Well, yes, it's sad because she had to go to the hospital, but it's happy because she's getting better there."
"Yeah, it's kind of sad and kind of happy. But I don't want to go to the hospital."
Max has mentioned you pretty much every day since, and how it's kind of sad and kind of happy that you're in the hospital. This is all just to say that we're thinking of you, and kind of sad that you're in the hospital and not feeling well, but kind of happy that you're getting better and will be done with all this soon.
Love,
Max & David
