Nighty night
Today went pretty well. No tears at all. Chemo didn't start, tomorrow is the word. Kristi and I did laps around the terrace (which is literally a terrace) before each meal. The doc, Aaron, said that she might loose her sense of taste due to the chemo. Food will be like medicine for a while. So weird. Hair loss is no problem, but this eating thing's going to take some sensitivity. I really like eating, that's why I am so fat.
Rich, Kristi's advisor, asked us to come up with a "things you can do" post, for everyone whose been asking "what can I do". We are still working on that. As far as a flower replacement, my approach has been to cultivate a toy garden, seen above. Andrew gave Kristi the hand made "Super Red Blood Cell". The underwater adventure on the right is the work of Roni and Liz. The others are Kid Robot art toys from Mechanized. How ironic is it that the two (surprise) "Scary Girl" toys ended up being "School Girl" (center right) and "Doctor" (far left).
A quick word on "Solidarity Day". Coming up soon, we will be demonstrating our support for Kristi with a head shaving spectacle on the front lawn of MEB. So far, Aaron Campbel, Roni, and I have committed. However, one need not shave one's head to show support, we will be passing the hat around for donations to help defray the cost of Kristi's treatment. Don't forget, she's just a poor grad student with minimal health insurance.... and we love her.
