Side-effects

This evening was a bit rougher than previous nights. We are starting to see some of the side-effects of the chemo. I think they were just late on the anti-nausea drugs. The days of wicked chemo sickness are pretty much over. Just as the therapeutic drugs have progressed, so have the management drugs. She takes two kinds of anti-nausea drugs and a steroid, which also helps with side-effects. She was willing to try a handful of self-management methods before calling the nurse. She's getting use to sleeping on an incline. This also helps with her breathing. We also tried walking it off, which has worked well so far. She's usually well asleep by 10pm (even before this little vacation). Tonight, she was still grimacing at 12pm. Within 10 to 15 minutes of taking her pill, she was, and currently is, sound asleep. Tomorrow is likely to be another groggy day as she basically lost two important hours of sleep. Napping opportunities are key.

Reminds me of all the cleaning products under our kitchen sink when I was a kid. But...ammonia tastes sooo good!
